Is your computer showing strange error messages or popups? Or is your computer is taking longer to start and runs more slowly than usual? Most likely your computer is infected with a virus or some other malicious software-viruses, trojans, rootkits, spyware and adware.
Here is a comprehensive guide to remove the Malware from your system.
1.Start Safe Mode-disconnect your PC from the internet, and don’t use it until you’re ready to clean your PC. This will help prevent the malware from spreading and/or leaking your private data.
2. Remove CDs and DVDs, and unplug USB drives from your computer. Then shut down.
3. When you restart, press the F8 key repeatedly. This should bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu.
4. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter. Only the bare minimum programs and services are used in this mode. If any malware is programmed to automatically load when Windows starts, entering safe mode may block the attempt.
5. Back up your files, including documents, photos, and videos.
6. Delete temporary files- now that you’re in Safe Mode, you’ll want to run a virus scan. But before you do that, delete your temporary files. Doing this may speed up the virus scanning, free up disk space, and even get rid of some malware.
7. Download an on-demand malware scanner such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Follow set-up instructions and install the program.
8.Post disconnecting from the Internet you should now run a scan. If you do have an infection in your computer your on-demand scanner should tell you that you in danger. A list of scan results tells you what malware was scanned, discovered and removed.
9. Restart your computer. Confirm the results of your anti-malware scan by running a full scan with another malware detection program.
10. Update your operating system, browser, and applications. Mostly importantly reset all of your passwords, this is another safe guard for your system because before being deleted, malware might have captured your passwords and forwarded them to hackers.
