CALGARY -- Held in check for three quarters, Washington Stealth sniper Rhys Duch came through when it mattered most on Saturday. Bacary Sagna Jersey . The leagues top goal-scorer netted two goals in the final 12 minutes, including the game-winner, as the Washington Stealth earned its third trip to the NLL Championship game in the last four years with a thrilling 14-13 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks in the West Division final. Washington scored first and never trailed, although it was far from easy. Calgary fought back to tie the game at 2-2, 8-8, and then tied it up three more times in a frantic back-and-forth final quarter. "High stress, high pressure situations, but everybody on both teams are a bunch of competitors and thats what that game was, competitive all the way through," said Duch, who had 45 goals in the regular season and four more last week in Washingtons 12-11 come-from-behind victory over Edmonton in the West semi-final. Washington took an 11-10 lead to the fourth quarter only to see Calgary tie it. They took the lead again at 12-11 and one more time at 13-12 only to have the Roughnecks battle back each time and even it. The goal that would be the game winner came at 8:06. Duch cut to the middle of the floor and whipped a shot past goaltender Mike Poulin. "They were definitely taking the shots away from me early," said Duch, who also had four assists. "They were bringing double coverage and thats the kind of game where you need to react and become a bit of a feeder, so thats the role I decided to play tonight. Then, at the end of the game, the coaches put it on my stick and gave me the opportunity." Calgary had chances over the final seven minutes but could not solve Tyler Richards. "We battled back and battled back and the offence would do a great job in the trenches and then theyd score right away," said Roughnecks captain Andrew McBride. "Once we tied it, we never seemed to be able to have those couple of good defensive shifts and I thought that was the issue." Looking for its second Champions Cup, Washington will play host to the Rochester Knighthawks in the NLL championship game next Saturday. Earlier on Saturday, Rochester beat Minnesota 12-10 in the East final. Athan Iannucci also had three goals for Washington. Justin Salt and Brett Bucktooth each scored twice while Tim Henderson, Cliff Smith, Lewis Ratcliff and Dean Hill also scored. Leading the way for Calgary was Curtis Dickson, who set a franchise record with seven goals -- all of them in the second half. Dane Dobbie had three goals while Shawn Evans, Joe Resetarits and Scott Ranger scored one each. "Id trade all those goals to play next weekend. Its going to be a tough one to get over," said Dickson. "From the start of the year, our main goal was to win that championship and weve been saying that all year and anything short of it is going to be a disappointment in our eyes, especially right now." Its the third year in a row Calgary has been eliminated from the playoffs in its home building. "You dont win and this season is a waste, straight up," said rookie Roughnecks coach Curt Malawsky. "Ive been around long enough, you dont win, its a failure, simple as that. All the hard work went down the tube. I was proud of my guys. They battled hard, but the end result is that we didnt get the job done. It stings and hurts. Its going to be a long, long time before these guys get over it, but Id go to battle with those guys any time." Washington opened the third quarter up 8-5 and quickly extended the lead to five on Hendersons first ever NLL goal in the opening minute and then a power-play goal from Hill. Thats when Dickson took the game over and turned in one of the more sterling 30 minutes of lacrosse ever played. Facing its biggest deficit of the game, Calgary responded with three straight goals of its own in less than three minutes -- all of them by Dickson. "We got some separation on them at the start of the second half but we couldnt do anything with Dickson, he was unbelievable, we couldnt stop him," said Hall. "Every time we got space, he seemed to answer for them." It was also Dickson that would tie it all three times in the fourth quarter -- the latter being a spectacular diving wrap-around goal from behind the net that sent the raucous Saddledome crowd of 9,583 into a frenzy. "They might have the most potent offence in the league and maybe the most pure goal scorer in Curtis Dickson who had a fantastic game," said Richards, who was perfect in the first quarter as Washington took a 2-0 lead despite being outshot 15-9. Kershaw rebounded with seven dominant innings and got two-run homers from Yasiel Puig and A.J. Ellis as the NL West champion Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 4-0 on Saturday night. Two days after clinching their first division title since 2009, the Dodgers turned to their ace who delivered a gem as he struck out 10 and allowed just three hits. Kershaw (15-9) lowered his major league-best ERA to 1.88. He leads the NL with 224 strikeouts. The left-hander was held out of his last start on Wednesday to allow him more rest as the playoffs approach. "I felt good, so I guess thats a bonus," Kershaw said. A little bit erratic at first with the fastball but A.J. did a real good job of making me use all my pitches on both sides of the plate." In his previous three September starts, Kershaw wasnt as sharp as normal, going 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA. Kershaw is trying to become the first pitcher to lead the majors in ERA in three consecutive seasons since Atlantas Greg Maddux from 1993-95. The last Dodger to finish a season with a sub-2.00 ERA was Sandy Koufax (1.73) in 1966. San Diego had Kershaws number this season, defeating him in all three previous starts. The 2011 Cy Young Award winner was 0-3 with a 4.67 ERA in his first three starts against the Padres, while going 14-6 with a 1.71 ERA in his other starts. "(San Diego) is a tough team. They battle me," Kershaw said. "They put good at-bats on me and always seem to get my pitch count up. I felt good to finally get a win against these guys." Said Padres rookie second baseman Jedd Gyorko: "I think the difference was being able to get those key hits. You cant get him all the time and he kind of got us. Id say our at-bats were just as good as any other game against him. We just couldnt push through." San Diego had runners on first and second in the first with one out and men on second and third with no outs in the third and couldnt scorre either time against Kershaw. Kelechi Iheanacho Jersey. "Theyve been successful against him the last couple of years," Ellis said. "They grind him better than any team hes faced throughout the season. Hes kind of become a one-sided guy against these guys. Fastball in, slider, occasional curveball (with) two strikes. I think he was ready for something different." Ellis homered in the fourth off rookie Burch Smith (1-2). "It was a changeup that was a little bit up that ran into his bat," Smith said. Puig then connected on a shot to centre field off Tim Stauffer in the seventh that was estimated at 457 feet. Kershaw reached on a bunt single to lead off the inning. Kershaw retired 14 of his last 15 batters. Relievers Ronald Belisario and Brian Wilson each pitched a perfect inning for the Dodgers. Los Angeles played all of its starters, except shortstop Hanley Ramirez.
