SEATTLE -- Hisashi Iwakumas pregame neck stiffness was serious enough that he had to call for the training staff. Toni Kroos Real Madrid Jersey . Fortunately for the Seattle Mariners, he found a way to take the mound Sunday. Iwakuma pitched eight effective innings to help the Mariners stop a five-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers. "I needed to pitch today. I felt responsible, especially after losing five in a row," Iwakuma said through an interpreter. Kyle Seager had four hits and three RBIs for Seattle, continuing his strong play against Texas. Dustin Ackley and Brad Miller also drove in a run. Iwakuma allowed one run on Brad Snyders first career homer in the second and six hits. Charlie Furbush then got three outs to complete the six-hitter. It was quite a turnaround for Iwakuma after he felt stiffness in his neck as he prepared for his ninth start of the season. "To be honest, yes, as I was playing catch before my bullpen I did feel that way," Iwakuma said of having doubts he would be able to pitch. Iwakuma, who didnt make his first start of the season until May 3 due to a finger injury on his throwing hand, improved to 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA in three starts this month. "My bodys starting to get used to season mode and Im feeling a lot better and stronger now, so I think Im good to go from here on," said Iwakuma, who was hopeful his neck wouldnt be a problem moving forward. The Mariners left a runner in scoring position in each of the first four innings before Seager drove in Endy Chavez and Robinson Cano with a two-out double in the fifth, lifting Seattle to a 2-1 lead. "Its been a little bit of a grind as of late, but before that we were playing really good baseball," Seager said. "Thats just kind of the way baseball goes. You go from scoring runs all the time to kind of hit a little rough patch, but thats just kind of one of the things you grind through it." Seager added an RBI double in Seattles three-run eighth as the Mariners avoided being passed in the standings by the Rangers. Seager has played well against the Rangers in his career, hitting .338 with 34 extra-base hits and 38 RBIs. Seager is hitting .396 (19 for 48) this season against Texas with three home runs and 12 RBIs. Rangers starter Nick Martinez (1-4) allowed nine hits and walked one, but held the Mariners to two runs in six innings. The right-hander is 0-3 with a 9.45 ERA in his last three starts. "He found his secondary stuff today," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "Threw a lot of changeups, threw some breaking balls. And with Nick, you need all of his pitches to manoeuvr through the batting order and they did. He made the mistake to Seager but certainly a big improvement." NOTES: Mariners 1B Logan Morrison departed after five innings due to a cut above his left eye that needed five stitches. Morrison was hurt when he swung his bat in frustration at the dugout wall and had a piece fly back and hit him. Catcher John Buck replaced him in his first major league appearance at the position. ... Mariners 1B Justin Smoak (strained quad), OF Corey Hart (strained hamstring) and OF Michael Saunders (shoulder inflammation) are close to being sent out on rehab assignments as they work their way back from stints on the disabled list, manager Lloyd McClendon said. The Seattle skipper said all three could begin a rehab assignment by weeks end. ... Texas OF Leonys Martin occupied the top spot in the lineup for the second time in as many days on Sunday as the Rangers try to find a consistent leadoff hitter. Washington said that doesnt necessarily mean he has secured that role, though. Nacho Fernandez Real Madrid Jersey . At this rate, the Flyers captain is set to be remembered more for a fantastic finish. Marco Asensio Jersey . Masahiro Tanaka has touched down in the United States and the courting of the Rakuten Golden Eagles stud pitcher has begun in earnest by a bevy of MLB teams interested in the Japanese ace. http://www.realmadridfcproshop.com/authentic-ruben-yanez-real-madrid-jersey/ . But history aside, theyre still happy to participate in the Par 3 contest, traditionally held on the day prior to the first round of the Masters.ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Last spring, the Chicago Blackhawks disposed of the Minnesota Wild in five games of the first-round playoff series on their way to the Stanley Cup championship. With the Blackhawks now a Central Division rival in the realigned NHL, the Wild have their hands full. But theyve clearly closed the gap. Marco Scandellas slap shot with 1:48 left, the defencemans first goal this season, lifted the Wild to a 4-3 win over the Blackhawks on Thursday. "Against a team like Chicago, coming back, it feels good," Scandella said. "Its a great feeling in the room right now. We battled all game. We stuck with it, which is the important thing." The Wild have won two of three meetings with the Blackhawks this season. "Anytime you beat a team like that, its important. Everybody knows how good they are," said star Zach Parise. "For us, its been a tough stretch for us where some games we havent played as well as we need to, but I thought we played a lot better tonight." Jonas Brodin scored on a power play with 5:39 remaining to tie the game for the Wild, who raised their home record to 12-3-2 and handed the Blackhawks their first loss in their past seven road games. With Charlie Coyle partially screening Corey Crawford at the edge of the crease, Brodin wound up and sent the puck ricocheting off Blackhawks defenceman Johnny Oduya and past the goalies outstretched glove. Crawford made 19 saves. "Hes got to be better," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. After nearly taking a 2-0 lead into the second intermission, the Wild suddenly trailed 3-2 after a forceful Blackhawks comeback. The first two of Chicagos four shots on goal in the third period got past Minnesota goalie Josh Harding, first by Brandon Saad and then by Marian Hossa. The Blackhawks had a season-low 19 shots. "Thats a hungry team, and they play smart defensively. Theyre tough to create offensive chances against," Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews said. Harding stopped 16 shots and improved to 7-3 in his career against the Blackhawks, who entered the night with an NHL-high 44 points. Hes 12-1 at home this season. The Wild went six consecutive games without a first-period goal until Matt Cooke snapped a shoot past Crawford. Luka Modric Jersey. Parises score on a power play, the first by the Wild in seven games, in gave them a 2-0 lead they had until 16.6 seconds were left before the end of the second period. Joakim Nordstrom deflected the puck behind him through the slot, where Jeremy Morin arrived to reach forward and guide the puck in one motion past Harding, who was coming off a 2-0 shutout of Philadelphia on Monday night. Morin and Nordstrom were both recalled on Wednesday from Rockford of the AHL. Then just 43 seconds into the third period, Saad checked Ryan Suter off the puck, took control and snapped a shot into the top right corner of the net to tie the game. Less than 6 minutes later, Hossa got loose down low on a power play and sneaked a wrist shot over Hardings shoulder for the lead. "Youre not going to play perfect against that team. Theyve got a boatload of skill, and they find ways to make plays, but I thought that we did a really good job of limiting them, containing them, keeping them to the outside," coach Mike Yeo said. After their six-game winning streak on the road, the Blackhawks returned home on Tuesday and lost to Dallas 4-3 despite 50 shots on goal. This was quite the contrast in offensive opportunity. "Six minutes to go with a one-goal lead, generally thats our bread and butter. Tonight we didnt get it done," Quenneville said, adding: "We had the momentum, but it was one of those games where the momentum turned quickly in their favour. Were still tied. Lets get it to overtime and see what happens, but they got the break and we got nothing." The Blackhawks were lamenting those two penalties they failed to kill. "Like the last game, we thought we had control and let it slip. Its frustrating to give up points like we have the last couple games," Toews said. "Its pretty simple. We need to be better." NOTES: Morin and Nordstrom were brought up for depth at forward. Andrew Shaw missed his first game due to an upper-body injury suffered on Tuesday night, and Michael Handzus missed his second straight game because of an illness. ... Mikko Koivu, in his 566th career game, passed Pierre-Marc Bouchard for second place on the Wilds all-time list. Nick Schultz is first with 743.
