The Patriots look to pick up another big win against the AFC South when they visit last year’s division winner in the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars battled the Patriots tough in the AFCCG Joejuan Williams Jersey Draft , but ultimately the Patriots thanks to another 4th Quarter comeback by Tom Brady. With both teams heavy favorites to make it back to the postseason, this could be a matchup that decides home field as well as possible byes. While it’s not a MUST WIN for the Patriots, it’s a game that could help set the tone for the season much like last week’s win did. These will be the guys who could have the largest impact for the team for better or worse:WR Phillip Dorsett: Dorsett proved to be the X-Factor in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Houston Texans, compiling 7 catches on 7 targets for 66 yards and a touchdown as he worked the short and intermediate areas to great success. He will need a repeat performance against the Jaguars, especially when they will be focusing on slow Rob Gronkowski down. Dorsett’s combination of speed, agility, and acceleration could create a favorable matchup against A.J. Bouye on the boundary similar to Brandin Cooks in the AFCCG or attack them from the slot against the Jags’ replacement slot corner. Jacksonville also plays a fair amount of zone, specifically Cover 3, so dual seam routes from the slot and TE could be part of the game plan as well. If Dorsett puts up 5+ catches and a touchdown Joejuan Williams NFL Jersey , I like the Patriots’ chances of starting the season 2-0.LB Ja’Whaun Bentley: Bentley so far has looked more like a seasoned vet than a rookie in his first preseason and regular season game. The Jaguars will test the rookie in the run and pass game through traditional means and RPOs. I don’t expect Jacksonville to use as many RPO sets in this game compared to the AFCCG given it’s only Week 2, but you never know how these teams scheme up the Patriots. Bentley should be a well-needed upgraded over Elandon Roberts in defending these type plays considering he’s a plus in the run game and adequate enough as an athlete where he’s not a liability in coverage. Once again, Bentley will need to have a solid game as the Jaguars try to stress the LBs with different run schemes and RPOs. Based on what I’ve seen so far from him, Bentley is up to the challenge. New England boosts its tight end depth chart."Earlier today, it was reported that the New England Patriots were bringing in veteran tight end Benjamin Watson on a free agency visit. Apparently, the visit was a productive one: according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the two sides are expected to agree to a one-year, $3.0 million contract that will reunite Watson with the club that drafted him in the first round back in 2004.Signing Watson certainly is a good move for New England: he offers depth at a thin position and also brings considerable experience and leadership to the table — and all that at a reasonable price tag.[Original story] Once among the deepest positions on their team, the 2019 New England Patriots are in dire need of depth at tight end following the retirement of Rob Gronkowski. One player to potentially provide just that is former Patriots first-round draft pick Benjamin Watson Joejuan Williams NFL Draft , who left the club as a free agent after the 2009 season but could now return: as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the free agent is in New England today to visit with the team.Watson, who reportedly is also considering the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers as potential options, spent six years with the Patriots after the team selected him 32nd overall in the 2004 draft. Playing a combined 80 regular season and playoff games for New England, the all-around tight end caught 196 passes for 2,297 yards and 23 touchdowns as the club’s top option at his position. In free agency 2010 and after not receiving a contract offer from the Patriots, the Georgia product left the team to sign a free agency deal with the Cleveland Browns. Three years later, Watson moved to the New Orleans Saints with whom he produced the best statistical season of his career in 2015: despite turning 35 during the year Joejuan Williams Buffalo Bills Jersey , he caught 74 passes for 825 yards and 6 touchdowns — all new career-highs.Unfortunately, Watson missed next season due to injury: now with the Baltimore Ravens, he tore his Achilles tendon in preseason and was forced to sit out all of 2016. The veteran returned the next year, however, after which he returned to New Orleans. Following the 2018 season — one during which he caught 35 passes for 400 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Saints’ number two tight end — Watson announced his retirement from the NFL.It seems as if the retirement was a short-lived one, though: Watson was already rumored to be open to returning if the right offer came along, and it could very well be made by the team with which his 15-year career (so far) started: the Patriots’ tight end position is in flux, and Watson would bring experience and leadership to the group in exchange for what would likely be a reasonable contract.
